What Fair Funding ? North Devon school budgets to face more cuts.

Yesterday’s announcement on Fair Funding for Schools may sound like good news for some parts of the country but when you remember that these changes are being applied to school budgets already drastically cut, this is more smoke and mirrors from the Tories.

Here in North Devon, so called Fair Funding will just add insult to the already injurious cuts served up for our local schools.  In yesterday’s announcement, most of our local schools will see a further reduction in funding at a time when pressures on schools are mounting especially as pupil numbers are rising.
 So much for the Tory controlled County Council’s call for a better deal for Devon schools – their friends in power clearly aren’t listening. It is time for a change in direction in education policy and we can start by sacking the Tories from their seats in County Hall in next May’s elections.
